Last Friday saw all of us at Bourchier celebrating the Tokyo Olympics with our very own Olympic Day. While a recent surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in Victoria forced us to lockdown and change our plans for our Olympic Opening ceremony, the circumstances did not dampen our spirits!

Each class represented a different Olympic nation and after a modified march around our basketball court our wonderful Year Six students led activities in every classroom in the school. Acitivities included 'minute-to-win it' style activities and the fun was obvious. Check out the video below for a glimpse of some of the action.

We have also been learning all about the athletes and the incredible sacrifices some have made to make their olympic dream a reality. Emma McKeon's fantastic medal haul in Tokyo 2021 has inspired us, Ariarne Titmus and her dramtic vicotires in the pool and the effort shown by many other has been sensational to watch! There are many other stories that have emerged from these Olympic games that our students may rember for years to come, to the Olympic Athletes out there reading this, Thanks for giving your best! (Always!)

What is your favourite Olympic moment so far?
