SWIMMING &
WATER SAFETY PROGRAM
As part of the Physical Education and Health Program, the school offers a comprehensive, intensive swimming program in for Prep - Year 6 students. The aim of the program is for students to achieve a level of skills, which make them safe in the water. The program is conducted by highly qualified teachers at the Aquamoves Swimming Centre in Shepparton.
SUNSMART
The Sun Smart policy and program at Bourchier Street Primary School includes the compulsory wearing of hats in terms 1 and 4, and encouraging the use of sunscreen. The schools uniform is designed to protect students from UV rays. Students wear hats, sunscreen and appropriate clothing when participating in any school outdoor function, excursion and camp activity and there are plenty of shady areas for students to use during recess and lunch periods. We are an accredited SunSmart School with the Anti Cancer Council of Victoria.
KIDS MATTER
Bourchier Street uses a Whole School approach to student Wellbeing . Kids Matter is a Australian Primary Schools Mental Health iniative that promotes social and emotional learning for all students. At Bourchier Street Primary School we recognise the importance of nurturing kids to become happy, balanced people. The Kids Matter program aims to do this.
